caravan park investors

I was just reading a blog from 3 years ago - a guy that had an idea about getting caravanners together and buying up caravan parks.
I have been toying with a similar idea - there is a small 30 site beachside park that we would dearly love to buy but can't quite raise the funds. I had the idea that maybe there are people out there who come up to Queensland each year, maybe even stayed at this park and loved it as much as we do. It is quite basic, probably a bit stuck in the 70's and I'm fairly sure it looks pretty much the same as it did when my grandparents stayed there in 1971.
We don't want to change it too much - it would be a shame to lose the nostalgia of the place. We just want to enjoy it and the people that visit.
Anyway I'd be interested to know if anything became of his idea and whether it is possible to somehow have people invest a small amount and than come and stay each year for free or a small fee or something like that
Would have to sit down and do some serious sums of course. I have to admit I have never owned a caravan park before - I'm a retail manager. My husband is a singer - does the 60's and 70's stuff that would fit right in a Saturday night barby and "get to know you" night.
What do you guys think?

The main prob. would be how many sites are there, lets say 100, with 500 investors owning their own bit, lets say 200 of them wants their site at Xmas time, who says who gets the choice sites.
Thats why time-share holidays collapse, because everybody wanted the limited units at the same time, quite impossible, somebodies got to miss out.

cycloneliz,

Sounds like a good idea. Te park in question wouldnt happen to be at Tooroom, north of Hervey Bay would it.

The old Serenity Park there is abandoned and is definitely stuck in the 70's (1870's) but a lot could be done with it.

Good luck with your endeavors.

Cheers,

Cruiser

there was a bloke a little while ago doing some research here on such subject.... his idea included work-shops and little sheds etc...

council regulations are difficult and greedy
