Hi all, I would like to get the family boat up and running. It has not been in the
water for nearly 10 years and has not been started for five. It is a 17ft Nankervis ski boat with a 350 Chev engine. I am really at a loss
where to start?
Any ideas would be much appreciated. Do I approach a marine mechanic to get an overhaul/service? Do I take the boat to a place that sells boats?
Excuse my ignorance! Help is needed!
Cheers, Mel

Hillway Dynotech - Speak to Rob (He isn't the cheapest but is the best boat tuner going in the Eastern Suburbs IMO)

If it has a 350 chev any auto mechanic will be familar with them as they are a GM car motor and a pretty simple motor.

Not quiet true, whilst they will be familiar with tuning the engine etc etc, Hillway Dynotech would recommend some simple changes to a possible older design such as:
1. Fitting of a Ski Control temperature controller
2. Solid state ignition vs older dizzie arrangement
3. Full Boat Dyno Facility to tune the engine under load
4. Simple
Water filter to prevent Impeller Damage and Fouling
These may not be required but are always recommended for older style Chev inboard designs. Some simple enhancements make the inboard Chev design far more reliable etc.
