Just sitting here wondering? I would like to have a lift kit fitted to my 2008 Pajero only 2"-3". Would it void the warranty of the vehicle if it was fitted, as it is a modification to the standard set-up
And does the same apply to tyres also?
Thanks for all you replies in advance they are all much appreciated

G'day Tony,if i were to do it on my F truck it would void my warranty only on that part that is modified & nothing else.
To be sure of your own though may i suggest you read your warranty & also ring the vehicle Co as well.

Cheers,

Bob.

Ask your local Mitsi dealer to get the right message. Tyres should be OK so long as they comply with whatever laws are in your state for tyres sizes.

Yep, most probably would void the warranty.

With mine, after a year of dealer servicing from new, I got fed up with dealers and went to a local mechanic for servicing. Once happy there, then did the mods I wanted, including a 2" lift to the suspension, and 3" bigger tyres for another 1.5" higher. Never had to worry about a warranty issue, and worked on the idea anything major would appear in the first year. Chance I took, and if anything did go wrong, I had to accept responsibility.

Hi Tony

I have a 2007 NS (still under warranty) with a 50mm lift. You can't miss it - blue Lovells springs and yellow Bilstein shocks.

I blew a CV joint 2 weeks ago and just had it repaired under warranty. I said nothing about the suspension changes (shouldn't have effected the CV anyway) and the dealer either didn't notice or didn't care about the change.

I suspect if you ask the dealer they will always say "warranty void" because they don't really know what the position is and its easier to just say no.

As Mitsubishi pays the dealer for warranty repairs carried out, I would have the thought the dealer couldn't care less and would rather do the work and get paid than not.

Good Luck!

Ben

It would affect the CV joint because the running angle is increased.
You were very lucky.

Hi Shaker,

In a perfect world I would call my experience "lucky".

Given the useless, unhelpful morons that staff my local Mitsubishi dealer my experience was completely as I expected it to be. They wouldn't realise I had made any mods unless I told them. They can barely manage to find their way around a standard Pajero - which is why I get mine serviced by an independent mechanic I know and trust.

I weighed all of this up before I lifted the Paj and decided the benefits of a suspension set up better suited to my needs outweighed the risk of (my local) Mits dealer declining to fix something under warranty.

Cheers

Ben

I have a NT with a 50mm lift & OME suspension on a VRX. Check with the transport authority in NSW about increasing tyre size from standard. Another good scource for information about your Pajero (if you don't know already) is the Pajero Club of Victoria.com.au There are numerous posts about tyres, bodylifts, equipment etc....My last comment would be about insurance. I think basically if you change the vehicle from the manufacturers specifications it may give your insurance company a "way out" of any claim. I informed mine & ensured it was printed on the copy of the policy. There are new owners of Pajero's that have reduced wheel size from 18" to 17" due to the limited range of tyres in the 18" size. Good luck with the Pajero.

Hi
Mitsubishi send new vehicles to us to have accessories including the ARB old man emu suspension fitted pre delivery. We also get new vehicles for upgraded suspension to increase the Vehicles GVM , so I cant see any manufacturer voiding warranty on a suspension fitted by a reputable aftermarket supplier. Mind you we are talking about a 50 ml spring lift allowable by law in the state at the time .

When i wanted do do a few mods on the Croozer when still under warranty the answer was if the mod contributes to the problem we wont honour warranty.

The other end of the stick is if it doesnt it wont.

Cheers
