The tour season is over, the stress levels have dropped, now it is time for fun fishing and a white Xmas.
We had a great tour season, now we have parked up the trucks for the year, now it's play time, I have already been fishing in Arnhemland this weekend with some mates, we went to Wiligi out station which is just before Coburg peninsular just south of Crocker Island.
It's a pity I get sea sick LOL, but we still had a ball in fact 4 of them are still there, 2 of us had to come home as Dave had to work this week, I still haven't unloaded the car and boat yet as there is a chance we (me the wife and kid ) may go back this weekend, depends on the rain as we have just started to get some Sunday night in fact it washed all the dust off the boat and gear that was in it.
As for the white Xmas we are off to Europe for the school holidays this year to see the out laws, yeah I know it's going to be COLD.
Anyway I thought I would come back to the sight and see how things are going.
Steve.

Good to hear from you Steve.
Sounds like you still have work, which is good.
We are starting to go thin on the work here, and we need 11 months of it to keep things going.
Have a good trip to Europe, and don't freeze.

Hi Steve,
Sound like a great job.
Could I ask you what tyres you run on your vehicles. I need new tyres on the 80 series wagon for a trip to the cape next year and imagine you would have some good first hand experience.
Thanks
Geoff

G/day Jethro.
I use Bridgestone 265/75/16s 693s on the cruisers, nothing else will do, the only time Iv'e had them under 42 psi was on Frazer Island and pulling the boat out off
the beach the other day.
As for the job
well I have owned my own business for 7 years and been guiding for 17, we run from April May through to the 31 October and not a minute more, as I said now is fun time, and after 16/18 hour days 7 days a week since the 9th May this year we deserve it.
Cheers Steve.

Gday Steve,
Yeah welcome back. Not a lot has changed.
Its a shame the Aussie Bridgestone factory has closed - you won't get the Aussie 693's any more :-((

Thanks Steve,
Sounds like you deserve a break, best of luck with the fishing.
That's the best recommendation I'm likely to get, every tyre dealer has a fantastic tyre story but no real life evidence, however should I go light truck or passenger tyre.
Regards

That's true Phil but the wear on the new 10 ply 694's is great so far with about 8000km on them (about 1500km on dirt) there is not a mark on them, maybe the new kid on the block is like a chip off the old block? hehe.
Welcome back Steve.
Geoff, Ill second Steve's opinion having had a few sets of these myself.
Cheers, Trevor.
