Following my Woodlands thread below, we're planning on exploring the Fraser Rng tracks between Eyre Hwy and the Norseman - Balladonia ExplorOz Telegragh Track.

Has anyone had a look at this area and can report on it? Plus share the plotfiles etc pls?

Cheers.

Hi John, we went through the Tele track from Dundas/Norseman to the Fraser Range track approx 5 years ago on our way to Point Culver. Unless someone has cleared it up with a chainsaw it was a bit of a slalom track, loads of trees had been blown across it, reasonable condition though you may see Camels through there too. The track through to Fraser Range Station was a bit of Goat track a bit scratchy and a bit confusing as you start coming into the property, gates and station tracks, we had been to the Station before so we knew the lay of the land which proved helpful in finding the camping area near the Shearers quarters, I heard that the Wibberleys had opened up to Campers again, top spot for an overnighter. Had the GPS on to leave a breadcrumb trail as we went across country for a bit, but it was still in it when I sold it to upgrade. Cheers Kanga1.

yes ive travelled the area south of the eyre highway and East of norseman extensivly for work.

theres probabally only 2 tracks which realisticlly can be used the fraser range track and the mt andrew track.

when i travelled the area in 04 much of it was burnt out and many of the tracks had since suffered severe regrowth or lots of dead fall or both
alot of the travel was off track and we extensivly damaged 2 near new tojos and got countless flats

sorry the other track is the telegraph track where the fraser range and mt andrew tracks come off heading south.

the Mt andrew track gos past a couple of rocks one of which has interesting features but unfortunatly terminates at a lake just short of the farmland where fire and regrowth seems to have reclaimed the track
rock along mt andrew track

Hey there Davoe, great photos, looks like my sought of terrain.

Just looking at the High-Lift jack mounted on the bullbar, would'nt mind doing the same with mine.
Any problem with legalities by carrying it there ?

Cheers......Lionel.

Hi JB
Did the Fraser Range track south of the Telegraph line from Esperance - Telegraph - Norseman a couple of years ago. Great, very remote (saw no-one the whole trip to Norseman), track but with masses of tree fall and really slow going in parts. Countryside changes dramatically through the length of the track. Was really glad to be driving an automatic as it was constant stop/start over and around the falls for long stretches. Would have come back with my left leg twice the size of my right with a manual! Good navigation and spares are also required.
Cheers
