The
Simpson Desert will be closed again during summer to ensure the safety of visitors.
The closure will apply from December 1 to March 15 next year and affects the
Simpson Desert Conservation Park and Regional Reserve.

ranger Tony Magor said it was unfortunate to close the area but it was necessary to prevent deaths from extreme heat up to 50C.
