The battery life in my Hema only lasts 3 days when turned off.
I have used the Quit exit button on the 4wd part and the exit part on the Street section.
However no matter which way I turn it off it seems the battery is flat after around three days idle.
I checked the archives but found no usefull info.
Also same for the Ozie site.

Suggest that you contact
HEMA for their thought on the matter. After all, they are the manufacturers of the product. Good luck with it.

This may be relevant to the Hema Navigator, it is relevant to some PDA units.
Leaving a memory card - SD or similar will cause battery drain, even when the unit is turned off. Likewise, it could be possible that wireless functions (bluetooth, infra red or 80211b/g) are infact still operational when the unit is turned off?
Try the card removal first.
Cheers, Tony.

Have a similar problem with my PDA.
If I use the power button and turn it 'off', it will last about 3 days because in reality it goes into sleep mode. Start up is pretty quick, only a few seconds.
If I hold down the power button for more than 3 seconds, I get a prompt about 'shutdown', and if I tap yes, the battery then lasts for a couple of weeks. Start up takes a while as the system boots from nothing.

Hi Dodger,
I just thought I'd let you know that the current Hema Navigator (version 1)never actually turns off, it only has a "sleep mode" (which still uses the battery.) Due to customer feedback about this feature, the new Hema Navigator 5" (released soon) will actually turn off completely, not in "sleep mode".
I hope this helps with your enquiry.

Dodger it is normal.
I recall actually reading it in the manual when I bought it.
