Sir Kev & Darkie
Now that we have moved to
Chinchilla and the likelyhood of striking wildlife has increased, I am searching for a Bullbar that fits an X Trail.
I want a full bumper replacement in an alloy bar (air Bag compliant as
well), but also want it to look good ;) I will get it in the hammertone finish as the polished alloy is a PITA to clean and is a nightmare at night.
So far I have enquired at
Tuff Bullbars in Toowoomba and had a quote of $2540 plus fitting.
I have seen the ones ECB and don't like the look of the design (yes I am being picky LOL)
Is $2500+ worth it or do you think we would be better off running the risk of hitting something and claiming it on insurance. It is possible that the X Trail will be doing some dusk/dawn driving.
I am tempted to run the risk.
Thoughts or other companys I could look at.
Cheers Kev

I am a strong Non Beliver of the Shuroo's haha
I prefer to have a roo not move than be forced to move by the use of a shuroo, Driving slower is also another method to reduce the chances of hitting something as
well.
Cheers Kev

What do ARB do, thats big dollars you are talking.
I would be tempted to run the risk, the bull bar isn't likely to save you from all damage, just more iikely to get you home, where you will claim on the insurance anyways

Kev, never mind the bloody roo bar, just avoid the buggers. What "WE" most need is an update on your new post code's must see and do thingy's, and a bit of what the joint is all about, i.e what's that about the melon capital etc :-)))

Fred,
Let me find out what is here first LOL. I have updated the
Places a small amount, with what I already know.
Chinchilla is the Watermelon Capital of Australia, as they produce the most Melons for the Australian market.

Fit some muddies to it Kev, they will hear you coming a mile away and be long gone when you arrive lol. Sal has and ecb on her Nullarbor and no one son has the same bar in hammertone(good idea). The ECb are very
well made, we paid about $1700 six months ago so
shop arround some more.Biggest negative of not having a b/bar is you are more likely to try and avoid a roo aqnd lose control of your vehicle.
Cheers Pete

LO Kev
Up your insurance or slow down at night. If you hit a roo with a BB fitted to the Xtrail you will do more damage than without one. Them Xtrails are pretty flimsy little cars :-)

Willem,
I am thinking we just Take Darkie, but sometimes that is unavoidable LOL
If we travel in convoy Darkie would go shotgun, I am thinking driving slower or not at all at this stage for the X Trail

Hi Sir Kev,
If you fit a Tuff bullbar it prob wont bend but the x trail prob will lol> They are a solid bit of kit.
Was it a 5 poster that you quoted on cause you can get cheaper versions dependingon channel size bar dia and number of post>
Cheers Wilko

That was for I quote "the 2 post bars with mesh protection for the spotties. We can make these into a 3 post bar which looks great"

I've seen X-
trails with the small "nudge" bars on them, maybe that would be better than nothing?
Nudge bar
ECB bar
