Hi,
I just bought a new SR5 Hilux with bluetooth mobile phone accessories and I'm having problems connecting.
I have paired my phone with the car and authorised it to make automatic connection everytime I get in the car, but it will not work. As soon as it connects it instantly disconnects again. When I then try to manually reconnect, it connects then automatically disconnects again straight away...
Any advice?
Cheers

Question...?
Do you have any other "Bluetooth" equipped devices in the vehicle ?

No, the Nokia E71 is the only bluetooth system in the car. When I set it up to pair with the hilux bluetooth it works fine initially. But if I turn the car off and back on, or get out and back in, the phone automatically re-pairs itself, then instantly disconnects again... does it everytime, even if I go back and try to manually reconnect. The only way to re-pair it with the bluetooth is to delete the phone from the system and start again from scratch.
I have read this is a common problem but have heard no solutions as yet...

Toyota have currently got some problems with the head units which control bluetooth connectivity in hiluxs.Talk to your dealer as they may have to replace to rectify problem.

I had a 6110 and had no troubles, I broke the phone and bought the next model and did the same as you, then tried my wifes lg and no probs so took it back and they tried a software update on the phone and still did not work, then they gave me another 6110 and worked fine so it may be the phone.

Could I suggest you take your phone to a Nokia service centre (not the dealer)
I had probs witha 6120 and flshed it but it didnt fix it so took it to a service centre where they told me they can reflash it in a way that a user cant.
Sounds good but didnt fix it It just shuts down without turning off and wont revive unless I take the battery out.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice :-)
Seems to be a common problem with my phone... Will try with the wifes phone when she gets back from brisvegas... that should determine whether it's the phone or car that has problems

Hi Hoogz,
I have a Hilux SR5 also and after some initial issues (senior moments) I have been successful in pairing a motorola mobile and now my blackberry, so perhaps it is the phone.....
cheers
