Battery power?

Hello all,
I currently run an Engel 45 litre fridge powered from an 80a/h battery (not deep cycle), however, it is isolated from the starting battery, while this battery has been adequate, it is now due for replacement. Can anyone recommend a quality deep cycle battery with 100a/h or more, size and weight is not an issue.

Hi. I have recently purchased an Exide 105ah deep cycle. Paid $185.00 It has 2 year warranty and dual posts for fixed connectors and/or battery cables. Regards,Bob.

Make sure it's an AGM - it will last a lot longer.

I second what Mike said.

@ M&J

there are good deals to be had on ebay.
Since weight/size is not an issue, go for the heaviest 100Ah AGM deep cycle with the thickest plates.
Look at the specified weight of the battery, more weight means longer life when comparing batteries of the same Ah capacity.
But don't get confused by the heavier weight of the gel batteries, as the added weight is not in the lead plates, it's in the gel.

Lead is what you pay for in any lead acid battery, just keep this in mind when comparing specs and prices.

Whatever brand you get make sure you get a decent warranty with it.

The weight information is a good indication as to the probable battery performance for the reasons stated, as Mike has said get an "AGM Deep Cycle" battery.

Buy a battery that's N0T a basic 'compromise' battery that's made to be used as a Cranking battery.

Buy a battery that does N0T have battery terminal posts, but with a secure method of connecting your *power cable lugs* direct to the battery via a bolt or similar method, as pictured below.Image Could Not Be FoundMaîneÿ
