Well,,,, what a trip.

We steamed out at about 5pm Saturday and stopped on Sunday at 11am.

The fish were there in big numbers according to the 3 divers that were on the boat, but they only bit well on tuesday morning. Went back to the same spots in the pm and nary a bit.

The wind blew around 20 to 25 knots with occassional gusts to 30 knots.

Rain squalls for the first 3 days were common. Wednesday afternoon the wind and constant rain prevented us from using the dories that afternoon. At one stage the line, sinker and bait were flying horizontal to the deck.

The Eastern Voyager moved from reef to reef but the fish were hard to find.

Naturally on Thursday afternoon it started to clear up and Friday was near perfect weather. Unfortunately the fish still didn't bite.

This trip was probably the 2nd worst in my 15 years up there. (This does not include the heart attack we had on board last year.)

And finally for those that asked about the boat that fell over on NW Rocks it was the Booby Bird in 1999, It was either August or September.

Sort of happy you didn't have a good fish total and great photo's to show us...... would have drove me crazy with envy LOL!!!! Still a bad day fishing is better than the best day at work. Just means they will be bigger and more plentiful next year doesn't it?

Cheers, Trevor.

Trevor

Thanks for your sympathetic words, I don't think. LOL

When I get back to Scone I'll try and upload some 'good' photos from previous trips.

Wife and I are going to Barham on the Murry in about 3 weeks,, maybe it will be better down there! LOL
