Gidday

There’s a bloke I work with down here in Melbourne who’s decided to pack up and head north. He’s a Strategic Planner and very good at his job, particularly dealing with people.

I’d appreciate it if any of you lot working in the NT Government could send me a contact list to get him started towards a new job. He’s 26, wants some adventure, and I’d vouch for him anytime.

PS I've told him that he'll get his butt kicked if he does'nt buy a 4wd and get out bit. LOL

Regards

Kim

I think what he means if the guy is so clued up he would have no trouble

sorting out himself how to get a job anywhere.

We realise you are trying to do him a favour.

Gidday Fred

Hope you and the family are doing well.

A Strategic Planner? That's not the focus of the post, but rather a desciption of his current job.

He's a bright young fella, and I'd like to help him along a bit. He may go into Government or find some other position within the NT.

Kim

I suspect Fred means to find out what the description is to assist with finding work.
Cant say I know exactly what one is, could be to do with Infrastructure, Logistics or even a spin doctor?

Kim and that bloody dog,
See you got some smart arse reply's and I guess I can understand that from the job description.

I have always found getting a job when you have rocked up to a new area is half the challange.

He will be fine and will find a job no trouble, it maybe not what he wants at first, but he can change later as he gets to know his way around Darwin.

Have a good one

I guess what Rags is getting at is that if he is any good at strategic planning he would have, or should have, no trouble planning a strategy to get himself a job.

Kim I work in local govt and Planners are in short supply Australia wide, if he wants to stay in Planning he shouldn't have much problem. Also temping is pretty good. Get him to sus out the NT local govt employment agencies.

Thanks Tjilpi

I've already passed the link onto him.

It's a good point you make about accommodation.
