Have you tried turning it upside down for a few hours?

HI Al, IMO your fridge has had it!! It's too old and the piping will be full of rust and it's not worth fixing. Ours lasted 22 years. Tried the upside down remedy and you could hear the rust flakes sliding along. Had to bite the bullet and buy a new fridge which was $1200 in 2001..... W

Al
Bloke behind Christies
Camping on North East Road, Klemzig or Greenacres, can regas the 3 way fridge.
But give it a good shaken up first and it might only be blocked with a bit of sediment.
If it has or had a strong smell of ammonia then it will nead to be looked at
Bob

Hi al,
Many, many years ago I did a TAFE (wasn't called that then) course in refrigeration mechanics. Near the end of the course the instructor addressed absorption type refrigerators which is what a 3-way fridge is.
He told us that for a non-working unit, his best advice was to roll it along the lawn a few times, come back next day, and by the Grace of God it may be working! End of lesson.
Never did have to deal with one (also God's Grace) However it may be worth a try.
Good luck.
