Help please! Is it just my screen or are others getting the same blah blah blah too?

I see all these extra words when i open the EO Forum and go into any thread or reply?

Here is an example:

I ran my cf50 a class="lbl" onmouseover="getKeyword('C850,waeco')" onmouseout="UnTip()" href="/Customers/WAECO_Pacific_Pty_Ltd.aspx">waeco The lid was probably opened 40 times according to how much a class="lbl" onmouseover="getKeyword('C748,beer')" onmouseout="UnTip()" href="/Customers/Evakool.aspx">beer I had left and it was still giving the beer

It makes it difficult to read when each post is the same with all this: "href="/ getkeyword onmouseout" blah blah blah written amongst what we really want to read. The more detailed or lengthy ones are even worse. Its only happening to me on the ExplorOz site.

cheers....

Fixed - thanks to the one member who actually emailed me about the issue so that I knew it was even happening.

Hello David, I'd be interested to know what caused that? Mike

Mike,
It was caused by me adjusting the pattern matching functions for the text replacements. I was trying to make a new pattern work and made an adjustment to an existing pattern in the database and forgot to revert it before I republished the main code. I was actually doing this in the blogs system however the pattern matching code is used on every page of the website so the issue became system wide. Once I was alerted it was fixed in less then 5 mins - I just did not look at the forum (as I only look once or twice a day) for the 2 hours after the bug was loaded.

If you are technically interested these routines are what parse all text that is loaded into the system each time it is displayed on the screen and there are about 30 RegEx patterns that are parsed to convert the links, images, keyword replacements, format strings and a number of other internal checks and conversions. Hence once I broke one it caused a number of them to fail and you could see the parts of the resultant HTML in the text because the whole conversion had not completed in the correct sequence.

Hope this answers it for you.

Many thanks David. Just storing it in my memory banks as I hadn't seen that problem before. Pattern matching expressions can be a minefield, they look more like 'line noise'.

I've never seen hypertext mixed with a proper display - I use IE8

Very occasionally I get an error where I see only hypertext in a yellow window.

Hmmm, yellow box, hypertext too all mixed in with proper display!

Well Mike I need to change my pain pills to what you are having HAHAHAHA

Certainly went strange hey. I thought it had something to do with my computer when it happened.

Good its all back to normal. The EO site is looking very very good with all its improvments

cheers Mick
