Steve, I have a similar 80 series running BFG 285/75/16 mud terrains (older type & not the new KM2). No problems. As
mine is a standard 1HZ, long highway hills are a slower but the extra ground clearance and grip is great. I only use this set for high country use, Outback etc still use the BFG 265/75/16 ATs
Look also at the Maxxis Big Horns.
The tyre size is 285 (width) 75 is height - expressed as % of width & 16 is the rim size.Image Could Not Be Found

Hi Steve21,
I have 265/75x16 BFG a/t tyres on the road and a 235/85x16 BFG a/t spare. They have the same rolling circumference and are all on 7" rims.
The spare in tucked up above the line between the diff and towbar and never cops and grief. My 80 series has a 2.5 in lift.
Just another way of doing it.
Ian

Steve, I ran 285x75x16 on my old 80 with 2" lift with no issues. As pointed out, it will sap some engine power.
