It won't be long and Xmas holidays and travelling will be upon us, many City drivers will be out on the country roads, travelling long distances of which they are not accustom to, so I have added a link that could be of help to the xmas holiday traveller. There will be many a truckie still working throughout the holidays delivering your gifts and goodies across Australia, to many, public holidays are just another working day, I can remember arriving back home (when I lived there) to
Brisbane at 7:30 pm Xmas day from
Darwin , that was Xmas 1981.

G/Day
With all the Foreign Imports in Australia it's getting that way where the average Aussie will have to celebrate Xmass behind closed doors, because they get complaints that it's offensive to their beliefs, and the major Department Stores are told to stop displaying Christmas Themes in their
shop windows as again they are affraid to offend these people.

Richard Kovac - You will have to find enlightenment yourself - not up to me.
Safe to say though, that what Christmas should mean has been long lost
well before this century.
Best of luck on your enlightenment...you will need it. :-)
Cheers

Hey Doug,
That's an excellent site with plenty of good info. I bet the temps in the cab of that Acco got pretty hot. About then I used to drive a K100 Kenny with a 892 GM in it and she got fairly warm in the cab.
Cheers Dave...

Geez, does that bring back memories!
Would have been behind the wheel of a 3074 ACCO, 903 Cummins and 10 speed Roadranger about then.
Aircon was a '2 x 60', both windows down and 60 MPH.
Carting fruit and vegies out of Griffiths to Flemington Markets and backloading superphosphate out of
Newcastle.
Cheers,
Dennis

Sorry boys... that was not an ACCO, it was a T2670 with no A/C , there was one day that still sticks in my memories and that was the time I left
Middleton Hotel heading toward
Winton , temp' was 49 deg .

As you know we are gone for a white Xmas this year, the misses said be prepared for -12 so I have a new SKI Jacket lol.
I dare say the autobarns will be just as busy, so thank god I'm not driving, the boss has that job seeing as she knows how to drive on the wrong side of the road.
We have a house sitter know so all is good.
