The "Sub Tank" light is showing and the fuel will not transfer from the sub
tank to the main
tank. We were told by an aftermarket Nissan spare parts guy that it could be one of two things, the fuel pump between the two tanks (which has tested OK) or a solenoid under the cab floor on the driver's side. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour and try again.

Second that. Presume you've checked the fuses as
well.

3rd that.
Simply disconnect all battery's for a minimum of 5 minutes and it resets the fuel control.
As said if that does not work have a look at the earth on the sub
tank or put another on it.

Also worth checking the earthing of the subtank wiring. This has caused problems in the past.

Almost sounds like Bill Gates had a hand in designing these systems for Nissan... if it plays up, just turn it off and reboot :)

Had the same problem with my GU. The service manager said that a sensor had shut down the fuel transfer because
water or air was detected & therefore valve on pump shut. Very annoying when getting low on fuel and you want to transfer diesel into main
tank. My problem occured during a
river crossing. The Toyota system is far better where the vehicle can be driven via the aux.
tank or the main. like on the 100 & 80 series.
