Recently completed 5 week sojourn to WA,& childbride & I were discussing best
bit of cooking gear. We agreed it was the newly aquired BBQ thingy for grilling
meat on gas ring. Cost around $20 at Big W. Consists of a dinner plate size hollow
ring with an internal trough that holds a cup full of water. On top you place the
convex cooking plate with drain holes. Meat goes on top after preheating & cooks
in minutes. Fat drains into water...no spitting or flaming & wipes clean with a
cloth. Lost the box so dont know the name, but ,believe me, this is the simple
answer for those who like grilled meat without all the fuss......oldbaz.

Is this the convex-shaped round hotplate for the butane gas stoves?

Certainly works fine on the little butane stoves, but will work on any gas ring with adequate clearance. Comes in 2 pieces.....oldbaz.

Oldbaz, I have one and it is a Gasmate Stove Top Grill Model Number SG1075. Purchased it about 6 months ago and haven't used it yet!!
Following your recommendation, I will have to give it a go.

Cheers

Dear Oldbaz,

Know exactly what you are talking about and as mentioned above, yes it is a gasmate product. I cook on the small butane stoves when we camp & I used it constantly on our month long trip to QLD with the camper trailer. They are lightweight & as you said, very easy to clean. Only problem I had was the snags kept rolling off!

Cheers,
