hi all
has anyone bought a car radio from aldi store its an onix brand? anyway i have installed one this weekend and have had no luck getting it to work. I have power to the unit, it is earthed with the same earth wire for the old radio so i dont think that is a problem. I have pushed the reset button as per instruction book but the thing still will not turn on i am at a loss why, can anyone help before i put it in the to hard bin

Have you checked there actually is power in the wires to the unit.
Perhaps blew a fuse when fitting What colour wires come out of it
Usually Yellow is power Red is memory and black or white can be earth

Mate I have the same trouble with the in built one in me Windsor.
The power might be on but you need to push several buttons to actually get it to run on the radio station you select.
The first button can be many things including tune! that is tune the desired radio station once you have done that it's not that bad but still a pain.
Turn the radio on then find the tune button! st one. Press untill tune is present in the LED window tune to find the station then wait and the selected station will eventually be played.
Thinking of chucking
mine in the bin as
well no one else seems to get it in my family either.
Good Luck with it.

The original post says it has no power at all
If you cant get it to work Perhaps the manual would help
Usually u can set the stations and it will go to them.

the radio does not go without the yellow memory wire connected.
They are an excellent radio for reception sensitivity.

Thank you Graham, Roughasguts, and Faulic_mcvitte
i have just conected the YELLOW wire and guess what its working. The instruction book says the red is the power wire and yellow memory so i nearly had it right!!!! its only taken me since lunch time saturday. I am in the Gosford area at the moment and not getting a good radio reception maybe time for new aerial.
The wife is having second thoughts about getting back on the road with me as she says if i can't fit a radio what good would i be on the road in a break down food for thought
hahaha
thanks Dick
