Just saw a quick news item about flooding rain at Innamincka. Have checked the BOM site but can't find any info. Does anyone know what's happening out there?

Willem, seems like John & Sally W were just after some info on flooding around Innaminka. Stating the obvious that its raining makes you sound like a know it all smart a#*e. May-be your idea of fun but comes across as you think everyone should know what the situation is out there. ???????????????

Hmmm haven't seen you here before.

I have been a smart arse for all of my life...if making a tongue in cheek comment deems it so. I am so sorry that you have taken offence at my comment. If this has upset you then you had better take some medication and have a lie down.

Cheers

Boy aren't we touchy.

If you look closely at Willem's post you may see this. :-)

If you rotate your computer in a clockwise direction you may recognise it as a smiley face.

This means a "tongue in cheek comment."

Lighten up guys.

Methinks the demographic of this Foum is changing. It is becoming like the Coalition with tit for tat comments and self implosionment. Prima Donnas abound!

Yeah, I do seem to stir the Hoi Polloi.....LOL. No matter, no skin off my nose.

BTW N0 1, the link was for yesterday and of course you are 'Out of Town' on Wednesdays, so you missed the excitement :-)

The demographic is changing ?????
Where am I from and where have I travelled??????????????????

The problem is - "I think"- you only rate your opinion.
Yes I am probably 30 yrs younger than you, but that surely is not a reason to reply with a greater than thou attitude.
I am on here to learn from all that are willing to teach and share their knowledge with respect and understanding - we cannot all be as experienced and well travelled as others.
And a "Primma donna" I am Not !!!!!

Seeing as everything has been reinstated, the diatribe may continue

There is an old cliché on forums...If you don't like it, don't read it. Which in itself is a silly statement but it does apply to some.

Yes, I admit to being opinionated and taking the mickey at times. Much of what I say is a play on words. Many readers do not have the necessary standard of learning and understanding of the finer points of the English language and cannot hack what I say at times. This is just too bad. You may stew in your own juice.

Rip64 I have dealt with. Maric uses a name that not many forum users know me by, so I can ascertain pretty accurately who this person is. No doubt it is a Forum Member or regular forum poster and negative protagonist posting from their work computer or roving laptop.

Thanks to those on the plus side of things for your positive comments.

Maybe the Moderation Team can LOCK this thread as it could go on ad infinitum as I always try to have the last word :-)

Hi Geriatric Gypsies,
did that storm sweep through B/Hill today ??
I was trying to follow it on BOM site and around mid-day it looked quite colourful over that area.
If yes,I hope moisture landed without any damage to property.

Rip64.

I have had a cuppa with Willem and Uncle at my place 2.1/2 years ago, Willem is a genuine bloke and someone on this site to admire.

There are times on this site that the question is asked that a (response to the bleeding obvious or a tongue in cheek answer is given), if you are the sort of person that takes offense to this then may I suggest you look else where for you entertainment.

As I said above when I looked at Willem's response I had a laugh then I looked at yours and laughed louder, you need to lighten up, if you don't you wont last long here.

Cheers Steve.

"No doubt it is a Forum Member or regular forum poster and negative protagonist posting from their work computer or roving laptop. "

Does sound like someone who has travelled with you all right LOL ;-) If you did a search of “Maric “ you’ll find he has been posting for a while. Might even be able to identify the type of vehicle he drives, number of kids they have and his name from some posts in June/July but that’s not as easy as a conspiracy theory and we all love a conspiracy theory don’t we ha ha ;-)

Cheers Mick

I'd hate to see you stop now Willem...

I actually like that part of this forum where someone will post a question and then someone will often post an amusing (but often completely useless) answer and then the rest of the replies will be quite helpful (but less amusing to read). That is unless of course the thread is taken over by someone who got upset at the amusing (but useless) first reply.

I do enjoy your comments most times, If I don't like them there is a lot of more places I can go to. Just like that follicle challenged person with the peculiar glasses. I don't always agree what you fellas may say all the time, but I do enjoy a chuckle.
I might catch up with you guys at Wiluna perhaps.
Keep it up guys
I enjoy it.
Or is that just my sense of humour?.
When I left Innaminicka in October the rain was getting close.
The troopy got a wash a bit further down the track.
Nothing like a bit of rain to settle the bulldust a bit eh.

Rip64 you got that right, I wonder why it come up on my members page.
I did not go through the Plenty this past winter but travelled through there the winter before.
My impression was that it was an excellent gravel road.
A lot of recent maintenance and improvements, mind you there has been a bit of flooding since then.
A bit like most of those roads, condition depends on volume and size of recent traffic and how far behind the grader you are.
The worst roads I have been on recently were Dalhousie Springs to Mt Dare and from Birdsville to Innanaminika via Allabury,

We hope to have a bit of time over in the Flinders next Easter and hope that some falls there between now and then.
