We have a Goldstream Sovereign Pop Up Camper trailer, offroad model which has a pressure hatch located in the roof. We weren't given any info on this and would like to know if any one out there can share their knowledge, and tell us if any one does use it, what are the advantages/disadvantages of having it opened/closed?? Thanks in advance!!

From what I see on the virtual tour of their site, it's the same small hatch in my van - often termed a scupper (which it seems technically it is not) you can leave it open to catch the breeze when mobile on gravel roads - the inward airflow 'pressurises' the van body to an extent and reduces the tendency of dust to get in anywhere else in the - just tried my vent over 400km or so in WA and it works quite
well ! Being quite low on yours though when the camper is closed, you'd want to be sure you weren't taking in dusty air.

I have one.The first time we used it on a dirt road, (130km) with the hatch open When we arrived at our destination the camper was full of dust. We now travel with it closed, and get minimal dust in.

another One-Use-User here... the one time we used it we got the most dust in we ever have.
might work on sealed roads.. but then nothing to keep out anyway...
might work on dirt roads... if you never meet someone coming the other way...

Hi, I'd be interested to know if the scupper hatch was mounted in front or behind a 4 seasons hatch or similar. I believe it as a big influence on sucess or otherwise.
Cheers

Ours is mounted in the middle of the roof. No 4 seasons vent but a little wind up vent over the stove area towards the rear (which is always closed when travelling)
