Hi all. Merry Christmas to everyone. Just wondering if anyone has installed Diesel gas on a non turbo 4 cylinder diesel and what they think of it. Just had it put on my Toyota 3L 2.8 Diesel and not sure what to think of it? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I have it on my 4.2L 1HZ Cruiser - am told that it has 20% increase in power when on gas. The only thing is 20% of stuff all power is stuff all.....I would imagine that the same applies for your 2.8L...

Diesel/LPG was discussed at length a couple of months on this site and opinions were about evenly divided. I contacted one of the firms doing the LPG conversion and they quoted me a 22% increase in power and about the same improvement in fuel economy, my mechanic said b*llsh*t, absolutely impossible, leave it alone, which I did.

I received the same advice from a gas installer who said if I did not want to put a turbo on my 80 series diesel, it would not make much difference (if any). So I left it.

thanks guys. I debated about it for 12mnths and did a lot of research. I was guaranteed it would make a noticeable difference but yet to notice it. Only early days and have been told after 3-4 weeks to bring it back with fuel consumption details. Apparently they are trying to organise a dyno as i didnt believe there was any difference at all. When new they produced approximately 89hp at 4000rpm (
mine will never reach those revs!!) so 20% of 89hp is only 17hp and thats if the motor is new!! So yeah as said, not really noticeable. Have to wait and see if the economy improves.
Cheers
