Hi there. Just wondered if anyone out there could recommend of any good 4x4 wreckers or similar in Melbourne (ideally in the east), where we can find spares (hoses etc.) for a landcruiser 80 series)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Erin, I can't recommend you a wreckers, but I can recommend that you get good quality, very well priced new hoses and filters etc for your 80 series from Don Kyatt/Terrain Tamer. You can buy the parts in a kit (ie radiator hose kit, heater hose kit, filter kit etc). IMO, better than having old bits, especially when it comes to rubber hoses!

Gooday Ern,
You've already got a set of used hoses etc.
Don't buy any more.

The best bet is to buy all new parts now, and have them fitted to your vehicle on the service before your next trip.
Keep all the used bits in the car if you wish, 'just in case', but it's most unlikely you'll need them.

Erin,

I would have to agree with the others. Get new ones fitted before the trip & keep the old ones as spares. That's waht I do and it would seem quite a few others. I also wouldn't take the risk using old parts that you don't know where they've been....

Halls 4x4 Salvage in Bayswater (Jersey Road I think) have a large selection of bits and pieces for both Toyota and Nissan.
