Well, I must say I've never ever had a problem folding ours, and often wonder what all the fuss is about....

What that bloke does, is a (slight) variation on the way I've been doing it.. (might try his way next time ;-))

Anyone who can't get it after watching that clip, Well, I have no sympathy for ya ;-))

Hi Ed,

Like Fred says below, I don't think mine would 'break its back' either. You must have a special one, like on the demonstration :))

Two things he doesn't mention.

1 It helps if you always fold it the same way. ie Same corner folded in and fold from same side. Mine folds best when front right corner (standing in front of tent goes in) and then fold with back of tent upwards.

2 When it "breaks it's back" you have to rotate both hands the correct way.
Thumbs on the inside and thumbs go down. that's left hand clockwise and right hand anticlockwise.

G'day Dave,
(I reckon it's a lot harder to try & explain something 'in writing' than it is to actually do it;-)),
But anyway, I reckon it's all in how you pick the thing up...

If you look closely at the 'still' pic, you'll see the bloke's hands way back at the corners, & the left hand being slightly forward (it would appear).. (this is where the 'trick' is, I believe).. Then, when you pick it up, just bring your hands together a few inches, and with luck, you should get that 'droop', as in the clip. after which it should just "fall into place" ;-))

If that fails, just 'wedge' the other (top) end into the ground, and you can kinda 'force it to break it's back'....

Then again, I may have a special one.....

Catch ya later....

G'day Ed,

Thanks for the tips. I reckon my problem has been trying to do it to the instructions supplied with it, and they are nothing like what is shown in that clip, nor the tips you have given us.

With Mrs Bushwhacker saying 'You blokes never follow the bluddy instructions, and then reading them out to me , step1, step2..... I stopped looking outside the square.

Like the old saying goes, 'if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got', and that's where I was stuck, doing it the 'wrong' way time after time, and struggling.

Thanks to the video clip, and your tips, I am almost looking forward to packing it up on 3rd Jan :))

See ya, Dave

There is no way that mine will "droop" like his does (OK... so keep it clean...lol..) when he holds one end up. Mine definitely does not "break it's back", it remains very stiff, and yes, it does take me a couple of goes to get it small enough to fit back in the bag.... no shame or blame there... lol.

Haven't got the tent, but do have an Oztrail fold-up gazebo.
Great product but has never gone into its bag the way it first came out.

Cheers......Lionel.

HAHA, I spent about 15 minutes trying to get mine to go back in its bag this morning... if you fail, try, try again, because you can't leave for home until you get it right... eventually it all makes sense (and now I know which way up the door should be when I start to fold!).
