Have been downloading map data to Mapsend lite programme on a mate's computer and the GPS has decided to jam in file transfer mode. The screen reads Updating USB Mode, Please wait. It won't let me do anything to get out of it and I can't turn it off. Had a similar thing happen to my XL once and had to take the batteries out to reboot it but this has an inbuilt rechargable so no can do. Any ideas please?

"but this has an inbuilt rechargable so no can do"
Just remove the rechargable - its not "inbuilt" and can be removed by unscrewing rear cover and pulling out.
Cheers
