I’d like to give a ‘rustic’ caravan park in Gippsland a plug.

It’s called ‘the Lakes Bushland caravan
park’ just out of Nicholson.
On arrival, the missus of the
park introduced me to her kids who had just returned from school. She also gave me six eggs which I’d forgotten to buy (at no charge).
After a lengthy dog introduction, we were off to find a
camping site with map in hand.
Round and round we went trying to figure out what was a track, or a
camp site. In the end I found an area amongst trees with good shade.
After getting set up, it was time to fit the plug, but it took me 5 minutes to find the connection.
The
park is dog friendly with plenty of room to let them run, and on some sites, you can have an open fire in season.
Some of the adjoining properties have a rabbit problem, and I’m sure with a bit of polite behaviour, you’ll be able to shoot a bunny for the pot.
So give the
park a go. Damn dog and I had a very relaxing time, and the folks running the
park are top people. It’s nothing fancy but the amenities are very clean. People inerested in bird watching won't be disapointed.
Regards
Kim

Gidday Wilko
If your refering to the daily charge, I think it was under $20 a day (out of season).

Gidday Fred
I'm not sure I'm allowed to do that. Even if I was, I would'nt have a clue on how to down load the photographs.

Thank you for passing this on Kim.
Obviously a great location. Ideally located for both high country and local beach adventures.
Will put that one down to check out very soon.
Thanks again.
True Blue.

Its a good
park!
Have stayed there a few times in the past (a few years ago though)
Clean, friendly, enough rules to make things work, but enough freedoms to make things comfortable
Only 10 minutes drive from Bairnsdale, close enough that you can drive to get a pizza, and 15 from
Lakes Entrance (should you want to visit the flesh pots and tourist fleecing establishments)
Unless they have changed the site layout, there is a number of areas which are designed for groups to
camp around a central area with a fire place

Then we’ll have to get a ‘Tickle feather’ and drive them into the pot.

Hi,
We have stayed at Bushlands several times and have no hesitation recommending it to anyone. It's great family affair where nothing is a problem. Go and enjoy.
Cheers
