Just crossed the nullabour. I believe we got a bad batch of fuel from
Caiguna roadhouse. Anyone else had this. Car ran badly to
Norseman. filled up there and by time at
Esperance was running ok again.

Approx. 637 km
Norseman >
Mundrabilla....
I believe this (
Mundrabilla) is where you'd be aiming to fill ??
There's Cocklebiddy & Madura, if you think you may be going to be a little 'short'...
If you have a half-decent range you shouldn't have to even think about getting fuel at
Caiguna :)

Well I get an average of 5.7kpl so am filling up at
Norseman and have 145 ltr
tanks
Was thinking of
Caiguna as its cheaper.
Perhaps Madura will be the go

Pretty serious allegation - seeing you've named the source. How do you know it was contaminated?

Well he said he 'believed' he had. And if your car was running fine, you fill up at a servo and it then runs rough for the whole
tank worth, once you fill up again after a short period of time it runs fine, circumstancial evidence certainly points in the direction of contaminated fuel.
If you own a diesel vehicle you will have brought bad diesel at some stage, or just haven't been driving a diesel vehicle long enough.

We were advised by someone who crossed a few days before us that
Eucla had the cheapest fuel, so filled at
Penong,
Eucla then
Norseman.
Was it petrol AM? While we were away, our daughter had a problem with the
water supply pump as
well as the quad bike following using ULP from the same can. Pump
shop repairers said the breakdown was caused by "tarry" ULP and that there had been a bad batch - not confined to any one brand. Our local fuel supplier receptiojnist said they had heard of this. Meanwhile it cost us over $100 to get the pump fixed with considerable inconvenience, and the bike is still not running
well (in fact i can't start it at all).
