Gday Doug
I remember taking photo's out in Nightcliff one night . Standing in an open paddock, just waiting for the lightning to flash. The odour in the area changed , when I turned around there was the whole family of locals just behind me , trying to figure out what the silly white bloke was doing.

Gday Doug
Good shot, looked like it had a bit of zip to it, are you starting to get some rain up there yet or still in the pressure cooker.
Cheers

Yet another great photo Doug,
We had a great electrical storm couple nights ago after a 40 degree humid day. I have a new camera and tried to take some shots. I left the manual in the container some where and couldn't remember the setting. For the life of me i couldn't get one good photo. Gave up and just watched.
If some one out there has a Nikon D60 please mm me on the settings.

Night time lightening. I think I tried auto with flash off kept coming up with subject too dark and wouldn't work. The only one that got any where near what looked like lightening was on sport. I will have to keep trying seem to be having these storms daily. Thanks for the details though I expect night/day maybe different?!

You need a Tripod for these settings, or something to
seat the camera on, the setting S on the wheel circled, and using the wheel arrowed rotate it to the left until you go from settings like 1/1.3 and keep going until it shows like this 8" . that will hold the shutter open for 8 seconds , camera should not be moved or photo will be blurred.
