Anybody had any experience with these? A tyre supplier here in
Cairns showed them to me and reckons they are getting good reports on them. They are another cheap Chinese tyre on the market, with a tread pattern almost identical to BFG A/Ts and half the price. Not sure if I completely trust the advice I am getting so thought there might be some useful comments on experiences out there.

cheap brake pads are not worth the effort it takes to remove them from the box. They squeal like a bstd, will cause premature disc wear and not have the correct feel (generally and imho) amongst other probs.

Take a chance and buy them. Then you can find out for yourself. Spend half the money and get half the distance :-)

I bought one in
Halls Creek last year. It was $200 fitted and balanced. As a spare, it hasn't actually been in contact with the road yet, but is still looking good and showing no signs of premature wear!

I'd bet it hasn't punctured or de-laminated either!
Bloody perfect tyre by the sounds of it!

Well, I'll give em a go as I dont think I am going to keep the vehicle much longer anyway. The tyre guy recons they are getting 60000kms out of them, which about the same as the BFGs. I'll report back down the track!

I've used a set for cross country desert travel before - but they were their 7.5x16 bias ply tyres (14 ply rags with nearly no tread pattern - wiggly zigzag like a truck tyre). At $60 per tyre, they worked great at what they were meant to do - avoid as many stakes as possible cross country.
What their regular radial tyres are like I couldn't say.

Had a set of Tyres Called SILVERSTONE they too were a copy of the BFG T/A tyre pattern. Bought them for $160 each & then had them fitted. A bit noisy on the road but great in off road work and performed just as
well as the real BFG, however the side walls are softer and probably more prone to side wall punctures. I had previously spoken to four wheel drivers who had them on Toyotas & Nissans and there was not one complaint. Someone told me they were actually a Malaysian tyre but you know what copy cats the Chinese are!!

I also had a good run out of the Silverstones. Good for the price, but I won't risk them on a trip to the Cape.
