looking at buying some new recovery gear,I was at the caravan and
camping show at Sandown and the 4wd show in
Melbourne, very confusing I must say, when it comes to these type of products, most items are all imported and very expensive. I found one brand that was All Australian Made and they were also the manufacturer, they tell me they have been making this for some 20years+ and all NATA tested. They said they used to operate under the name of Koala Bush Products and now as Desert Pro Off Road Products. There products look very
well made. Has anyone seen or heard of these brands or used them before, as I'm about to purchase a full recovery kit of them, mainly because they make and sell them themselves.

Ian,
Just Straps are also another Australian made one to look at.
I haven't heard of Desert Pro gear before.
Cheers Kev

I noticed in repco a package of Just Straps "the australian made tie down company" that still had the made in china stickers on the individual tie downs inside the package. should have taken a photo of it!
No truth in advertising (or marketing).
Still, not as bad as the "Australian Made" Gold Pan I bought. It had Australian Made and Made in Taiwan printed on the same piece of paper. duh!
I haven't heard of Desert Pro either, I use Bullivants for rated shackles and chains.
I would buy from an Australian manufacturer even if there is a 3x difference in price, been let down by China too many times. They don't even use their own products, two guys from work had a job in Hong Kong, needed some
tools so walked into a
shop of the street and purchased the cheapest pliers and crescent they could find (about $2 each). Made in Germany!
sorry for rant.
cheers
Frank
