Anyone have any info / experience with Dometic 3 way Fridge (mines RM 2301)
I assume all the same principle of design.
Found
mine with strong smell of ammonia, no cool, assumed its cactus.
Then started to research on web.
So no assumption from then on. Found that common fault is they develop a chemical sytem lock / block.
Stated common fix is to remove turn fridge upside down atc., basically kick em around( exagerate) to overcome temp block.
My ques is to diagnose whether ammonia fumes / smell with NO obvious leak (of fluid) is terminal or just symptomatic of this design in SOME circumstances.
Yes I have had firdge for some time and hasnt occurred before so I know it is not common or occurs often.
Any tips / personal experiences and ways to test further appreciated.
Ex mechanic so diagnosis skills / tech skills good. Just no personal experience here before.
Cheers
Dave

The system is filled with a mixture of gasses mostly ammonia.
If you can smell ammonia there is a leak somewhere and you'll have lost all the gas
They can be repaired as brother in law had his fail on the
gibb river road.
