Kim and Damn Dog
I received an email at work today stating a company had picked up the Toyota bull bar contract. Unfortunately the email wasn’t redirected to
my home computer (for some reason), so I can’t provide any further details until next week.
As far as I can recall the company is setting up a new titanium factory and will use a cold painting process (what ever that is).
This wouldn’t be good news for ARB or TJM I suspect.
Regards
Kim

G/Day Kim
There is a company up here on the
Gold Coast, called Bocar, they have been mass producing Aluminium Bullbars and Tray Bodies for many years, they have contracts with most of the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers like Nissan ect, if you buy a vehicle from a dealership and request a bullbar fitted they usually supply them.
Cheers

G'day Dazza
It's Bocar that went belly up when they screwed the design of the 200 series bullbar, and didn't / wouldn't / couldn't wear the cost of the recall. Toyota Aus took over operations of Bocar for the last 6 months or so, but it was never going to last.

I believe that Toyota have now given the contract to ARB.
When the original Toyota (Bocar) mounting system proved faulty, Toyota got ARB to manufacture the revised mounts, so now they've got the whole thing.

Hi Kim,
We got our 200 with a factory bull bar and a month after took it off and replaced it with a ARB.
The cost I think was about $2400 for both ARB and Toyota and the ARB is much better for off road. ( defects
water for river crossings, jack onto the bull bar etc)
I have also heard that you pay luxury car tax (on the bull bar) if ordering a bull bar new with the car. Interested if this is correct.
Always good to know the manufacturer however
