Would like to read your opinions of this event which is held mid February and your opinions of the
camping grounds for self sufficient caravaners. The associated websites make it look attractive but not having been there I would like to read of your experiences, good or bad. Happy Days. Pauper.

Hi Pauper,
We went there last year and had a ball. In our group were 4 caravans a
camp trailer and a tent.
We set up by the river (
creek) and had a great time.
The shows were good though we didn't actually go into the venue of an evening as we could hear it quite
well from where we were.
The street attrractions were very enjoyable with buskers, street performers and street parades.
The usual Ute & Truck muster got plenty of attention too.
From where we camped it was a bit of a walk to the
toilets but we had our own so it wasn't a problem.
See you there
Neil

Had a look a couple of months ago.
Was very interesting.
The
camping area down by the
creek was pretty overgrown but I guess they mow it.
Big notices to say self sufficient
camping only NO
toilets.
Other area up the top for vans as
well it seems .
A really off the wall outfit which would vary depending on the performers I guess.

hi graham
i think you may be refering to harvey dicksons music centre which is a separate private venue out of town and he also has a rodeo there and owns the elvis memorabillia collection
the boyup brook country music show is held near the flaxmill caravan
park in town near the sports oval and is run by the boyup brook country music club
there entirley different venues

Yep correct.
He also has country music shows both at the inside venue and at the big arena on the other side of the road.
We went on a conducted tour just before the rodeo and then went driving down by the river
camping area. Didnt go down to the flaxmill unfortunately.
They must be real country music fans out there as theres only about 100 live in the town.
LOL

Hi Graham - a few more than 100. It is a small town, and the shire sometimes has negative growth but the whole of shire
population is around 1500.

Maybe but we only saw 2 on the street and the second hand
shop and museum both of which looked really interesting were shut.
The figures in the main street were daggy.
Lots of interesting little towns in the area though we only got to that one by going down the wrong road
Glad we did though.

Hi Mazcam
Pauper's original post had the Harvey Dickson website but nothing more - the post was then altered to include the question, so i think it was about
camping out at Harvey's music centre.
Hi Graham
I think the museum is only open at a few specific times or by arrangement. We donated a few items they were seeking after my parents died. Glad your wrong turn was a good one. If we find ourselves on a wrong road, we usually continue as it usually seems to have happened for a good reason.

Just go in and press the bell and your hair stands on end as its connected to a fire siren. They come and take you through OK.
Found I have a few Johnny Cash and Elvis records he doesnt have.
Might donate then before I die LOL.
Might sell them tho as they are fairly rare versions.
Cheers

That is on our to do list, I saw it back in the early eighties when I was with the kids on a school
camp and the Elvis room was just starting up. Will be interesting to see it now.
Cheers
