It will cycle all day and night without a hassle, But when it has worked in 35deg + temps a few hours it does`nt like restarting up.
Even pressing the on button won`t help.
Then it will go through the 100 countdown a few times or a few hours until it cools . Then it will run all night again.
I have even connected a battery right beside it with an anderson plug to confirm it`s not my connections.
In one case 240volts did nothing until it cooled.
Sometimes when it kicks in (after prolonged heat) the "HIA" symbol will flash a few times and then it stops. And then I know it is almost cooled and will start soon.
I have taken the rear cover off and blown any dust out but no different.
I `m guessing it may be a relay or I don`t know.

Any help would be graetful.

THanks

I would normally say contact Rod Dun of Rods Country Camping Gear but Rod is currently in USA for a white Xmas and will not return until January.

Your problem in unusual in that they are an excellent high ambient temp fridge with a rotary compressor and lock up to me is normally due to high head pressure.

Have you had someone try to check and regas it as that can be a problem as they need to be evacuated in both the high and low sides and if not done correctly then problems do occur.

Im afraid I cant offer much help beyond that .Good Luck.

Where is Rod Dun based , would you have his number.I could ring him next year.
I did hear it lock up last week, and also sometimes I can hear a noise as if the gas has ar bubbles in it.
I bought it in 99` and it has never been regassed. But still works well in cooler temps.

Thanks, RV Powerstream P/L

Rod is now based as Darawank north of Forster Tuncurry in NSW. He used to be the NSW state distributor for both Liemac and Refrigeration Research.
He still uses a Liemac himself.

If you PM me I will contact you on his return so you can talk to him and yes the same man in SA that did the electronics still can repair that part of them.

His phone is not available until he returns as his mother in law has it and she would be of no help to you.

Yep just who I was going to recommend Guzzi - quick, prompt service - nice people to deal with - it is in the Burleigh Gardens Industrial Estate - I think it is off Ambassador Drive (?) think that's the name of it.

Friends of mine bought a few of these when they were first made at Mt Barker many years ago, and they had similar problems, and i think the fix eventualy was to install a small fan to shift the hot air out.
I could probably find out for you if you cant get a fix.

Not a good time for fridge to need repairs. I bet all the fridge techs are in overdrive this time of year.
Everyone else is it seems,I cant get a plumber or an electrician to even take a booking weeks in advance to do some work around the house

The inverter was a problem initially, Trisan in SA made them and still service them (I think)
Theres new and better parts they fit now which make them draw less current and easier starts
As pointed out when its hot not only does the compressor take more to start, some electronic components dont work too well
Additionally the real cause of much problems with these fridges was too small a wiring to unit. They need big cable and short lengths to work properly
Hot conditions and old cables increases resistance and can mean insufficient current gets to inverter for starting. This in turn stuffs it. Check earth wiring too. Needs to be same size and back to battery.

My choice would be to replace the inverter with thier new one but needs compressor moved slightly so costs a bit.
I havent spoken to them for a few years now, I assume they still work on them.

These are a very serious fridge, with excellent cooling capacity but needs high strartup current ~ 25+ Amps for a few secs (drops to ~ 3A when running)
