How's this, went to Lord Howe Island for a holiday and went deep sea fishing with Jack Shick on his boat, he guarantees you a "feed". My mate and I paid $85.00 dollars each for 6 hours, which was not a problem, the problem was that we caught about 100 kg of Cod and Kingfish between us with the smallest being about 10 kg and the largest about 25 kg and this included a Cod of about the same weight plus other that fish like large nanny gai, trevally and mowong and when the time came to get a "feed" he refused to cut up any of the smallest kingfish to share between us saying that they where his fish and they were going to the resorts (we learned later at about $15.00 per kg.) instead we only received what we didn't want. So if you want to be deck hands and pay $85.00 for the privilege, catch all the fish and work your insides out, and not get what you would like at the end of the day then go and fish with Jack Shick on Lord Howe Island and make him a happy and "rich" chappy.
From "not a happy chappy".

Had the same experience at Punsund Bay back in 96, they would only give each fisherman enough for a feed, the rest was sold for dinner that night over the counter.

Lord Howe has a bad reputation. Forget customer/visitor service. You would be better spending your money elsewhere.

I have sailed there many times. The trip is good but the islanders are not.
