Is it only in the UK?
I am sure I have seen Prados running around with the word Landcruiser on the back. Or am I needing new glasses. Anyone??

Yes it's a Prado, I thought they meant a Landcruiser as in the Big One.

The RAV 4 is also a Landcruiser. Its proper name is Landcruiser RAV4.

Doesn't matter which Blandcruiser they're referring to, they're all "soft-roaders" these days.....not a solid beam front axle anywhere to be seen in the 200, the prado or the "Blandcruiser RAV4"...... hahahaha
I wouldn't trust taking any one of those 5 rigs out of town too far.....especially once (if) they ever got over 200,000klm on the odometer!!!!

In UK, the LC200 is referred to simply as the Landcruiser V8 and it is only in diesel form, is more fully equipped than our Sahara and also has self levelling air
suspension. It also costs about the same as the Range Rover Vogue...about A$170,00 on current exchange rates.
And Roachie.., I'd take on your beefed up Patrol any day for what I want to do with my 'Blandcruiser' Your obsession with live axles is old hat and utter hogwash for what 99.9% of ordinary people want to do with their 4WDs.

Just a question???
Can you actually go off road in the UK. I don't mean a dedicated off road course on someones farm but some remote out of the way track that you take to get somewhere because that is the only track to get there.
Is there any real challenging
places to go. This assessment of top 4x4 would be for what is suitable in the UK and what is perceived as good since most of the land gentry drive landrover.

"Can you actually go off road in the UK."
From my understanding only on private property but they can hop the channel then the mediterranean & go sand driving in a little Desert they call the Sahara ;) & it's closer for them than WA is for us on the east coast.

It seems that the Prado in some circles is now referred to as a Landcruiser Prado model xxxx.
Not really a fairt review. Definitely designed so that the Disco would win.
So blatant in their review hey.
It was terribly obvious when our old mate (doubtful) Jeremy chose the Toyotas for the drive to the North pole. Since he did a review of the Disco some episodes back and of course was wrapped in them why then didn't he choose them for some real off road. Hmmm Another fair review.
To Disco owners: Each to their own. It is often a personal choice as my niece and their huisband said when they got theirs. I am not knocking ithem Okay.
Thats before you attack me. No need people.
That lot are really stuck on a small
rock aren't they. Can't look outside the square.

A 4wd vehicle in the northern hemisphere is designed for on-road winter conditions (snow and ice) and not for rough off-road trips.

OK I'll bite, you didn't know the Prado was a Landcruiser, well since it was released it has been known as a Toyota Landcruiser Prado 90 series and now 120series, it even has it on the back door.
The fact that the D4 has also won car of the year out here by 2 motoring organiations/mags and OUT HERE IT WAS UP AGAINST THE 200SEIES GXL V8 CUISER, also in has won the US as well, one would think that maybe, just maybe it's an all round better car and not just in the UK!!
Oh and by the way the 200 series Cruiser is not released in the UK!!
But the 76 series is and it's released as a Prado, what we call a Prado is released in the UK and Ireland with a different name, but still a Landcruiser!!
Baz.

On a slightly different track. The 200 series landcruiser in other countries is sold with different engines. Yes the one in this review is a Prado. You can get a manual, as in real stick shift 200 series in other countries. I beleive that it also comes with the 3 litre prado engine as well.
Don't be too hard on the English, some sympathy please, they cannot play rugby or cricket and last century we had to drag them out of the fire in the Boar War, WWI and WWII.
