G'Day Troops,
Can anyone suggest where or how, I can locate one only alloy rim for for my Pajero as I am soon to undertake a trip to the NT and require an additional spare.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Richard

Hi Andrew my NP came with 17 inch Alloy's my NM had 16" Alloy's.
I wouldn't mind changing my camper to 17" as
well , but probably never get around to it.

ok scoot. :)
Personally i would stick with 16's (easier to get hold of i'm told) and a better profile for off the bitumen IMO.
It's a common question on the pajero
forum some time back (probably still is), and a common answer seemed to be to buy a set (4 or 5) secondhand from ebay etc and sell off the remainder to a group of pajero owners....$100 each compared to ~$300 from MMA.

I know it goes against the grain, but why do we need 2 spares?
Why 2 & not 3 or even 4?
What makes the figure of 2 correct?
If you are going somewhere that you may wreck tyre casings beyond repair & it is exceptionally isolated it would probably be acceptable to carry 2 or more spare tyres. 5 will be enough rims, they don't deteriorate too fast, so just take tyres.
But if you are only going to the usual tourist spots just make sure you have good tyres on that will still have plenty of tread on when you get home.
Alternatively wear your tyres down on the way up & put new ones on up there before you head out on the dirt roads.
My total number of punctures on trips so far is 3. That is probably over 60 or 70,000 k.
6 of those trips have been to or through the NT on a mix of tar & dirt roads.
You will be right. You just mightn't look like an "OVERLANDER" ( that's a name the kids came up with for the people with the spare on the roof rack & the flapping tarp. It came from that song about passing the billy round)

Thank Boys for the suggestions, looks like the best option is just to take tyres.
Thanks for your help.
