Poppy the Jack Russell, travels all over Oz...
She ate ratsak once.... $650 worth of emergency vet work to get her back from that one.
Today... a redbellied black snake bit her before it met its end. Shudder.
The little mutt is still alive.... just. Two doses of anti-venine and resusitation. She remains in at the vet where the next bill is being generated.
Sigh.

Sorry to hear of Poppy's plight, hope it's OK and bouncing around very soon. Time to get out the cotton wool and wrap Poppy in it LOL.
Cheers
Deanna

But you wouldnt part with her for the world :-)
There is something to be said for Pet Insurance - one of my two Jack Russells definately has had his moneys worth out of it.

My wife has a vet. hospital here.
This has been the worst year for snake bites-particularly browns !! (the anti-venom is very expensive)..
And there's an epidemic of dogs eating snail bait (that knocks them around) and takes a lot of care to pull them thru.
On our last trip, there were 2 travelling dogs that had suffered 1080 poisoning- and after only 1/2 hour, the only option is the 'green dream'. (luckily we had some available).
Hope all works out with Poppy !!

I have a lttle dog and poisoning is our greatest fear although we keep a close watch on her and never let her run thru the bush.
Can you explain 'the green stuff'?
Cheers Linda

Sorry to hear of your plight Royce. I have had 4 Jack Russells and as much as I love them will not have another, they eventually use up their 9 lives. But they do have character.
Good luck Pete

I wish Poppy a speed recovery.
The comment on snail bait is true. BAYER is the worst. It has a smell dogs love. If you need to use please try a different brand.

Funny you should say that. If we don't watch her she give the cattle hell when we have them in the yard... including the Bull!
