i have found this great truck which has everything on it that i want, but i think he is asking too much for it as it has 630,000 km on it! Just wanted to see what people thought of it. i really love these trucks but but is it worth buy one for $5,000 and doing everything to it?

Azza, Check out the Red Book web site to check car prices. You don't have to pay what they are asking anyway. You could try waving $3,000 or less under their nose and see how bad they want to sell it. You just never know.Al Symers

Hi Azza. I own one of these trucks and they are great. I'm new to 4x4 but have been going out over some bloody difficult terrain and have had no problems (so far). I wish I had known about the red book site there AL. Seems I paid a little to much for mine but I have no complaints.

it looks nice, but I wouldn't call it a collectors item.

why not buy a cheap old one, and have all the fun of doing it up yourself!!

then you can set it up to do exactley what you want with it.

just my 2c

I think I have seen that vehicle on the internet while searching for diesels. A good BJ42 is hard to find and will be worth some money in a few years time. Get the vehicle checked out by your Automobile Association and take it from there. You probably would not be able to replace that engine for $5000. I would think that quite a few parts would have been replaced over the years and that not all of the vehicle has done 630,000Km. These early model diesel Toyotas are capable of doing a million clicks or more if serviced correctly. I would wave less cash money under the salesmans nose to clinch a deal. Good luck.
Cheers,
Willie

I think he is asking way to much asumming the km is not a missprint, I paid $8000 for mine from a car yard about 7 years ago with 169,000 on the clock and three month warranty...............Dazz

Just thought of something else and I could be wrong but if it is a genuine LX it should have a five speed and power steering as standard..........Dazz
