Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find out if it is ok to take dogs to Valley of Lagoons up behind Cardwell in North QLD . The dogs don't bother cattle and can be tied up if necessary . Also if anyone knows , can we just turn up there or do we need to contact the station owners as I have been unable to find a contact number . Thanks in advance for the replies ,
Kev.

We go to the valley relatively often.. We always see campers with dogs there. They also have pig hunting there so many dogs are hunting dogs.

I am not sure if these people ask permission or not, the above is only what I see

Note importantly that the camping area is actually at Readybrook station, next to valley of the lagoons. The VoL do not allow campers, dogs or not

Cheers,
CJ

Thanks for the reply CJ . Thats the first I've heard that the camping is at Readybrook so appreciate the information very much . I assume that all the pics I've seen on the net from searches showing camps beside the water are from Readybrook?
Thanks again

I'd say your assumption is correct - plenty of water there. And VoL is the common name for the area not only for the station, but Readybrook is the camping station. At times it gets quite full - go at Easter and you will struggle to get a nice spot

I heard that the Valley Of Lagoons was the original lease & Reedybrook has been sectioned off it. Not gospel, just what I heard.
Met the bloke that runs Reedybrook once. Quite a nice bloke. Doesn't mind ordinary campers. Doesn't like motorbikes hooning around.
You wiil know when you get to the Burdiken. It is about the only running river out there. Not quite as big as it is downstream. There are numerous campsites upstream from the bridge. There is a track in a few hundred yards towards Mt Fox from the bridge that takes you further upstream to campsites as well.
You will enjoy it there.
