HK,
There are many other manufacturers of drawers in that price bracket than just BW and OB. Whilst they are the the better known, and both produce impeccable products, you might also consider Fourby Fitouts, in Hallam, Vic. At a similar price (around $2500 to $3000) thay can offer you a "modular" system that is top quality and very versatile.
If you're after a more cost effective solution we can help. Our standard two drawer system for your 76 is just $950 and bolts straight into the back of your wagon in less than ten minutes.
Photos are on our website
www.bestoffroad.net. au
You'll see a shot of a unit we did for the CFA in the back of a 76.
Please do your research, there are a lot more than just two manufacturers building these things.
I trust this helps,
Jim.

I have the Outback drawers and am very happy with their quality and solid construction. You can see a pic in thread 74580 where I have added an extra set of home built drawers on top of the Otback set.

You can't go past the BW.
I have had
mine for years, time tested and proven and a brilliant finish to boot.
Moved them from one truck to another so great value when spread over the years.

Yes john, But will you cut off your finger, if you close the draw with them over the top?

Yes Richard if you leave your fingers or hands inside any draw its quite feasible that you would come off second best.
I have never done it in the many years of using
mine including my sock draw at home :-)
In the case of 4wd draw systems as a whole I have never heard of anyone actually doing themselves harm.
I should have added that the new handle system on the BW drawers is by far one of the best on the market, custom made by BW for the job.
No affiliation other than a very satisfied customer.

I forgot about Tanami Hairy.
They are also a most excellent system. I doubt anyone would ever have the slightest problem with any of the professionaly built Drawers. We all use sealed roller bearings and robust rail runners.
It all comes down to personal preference and price.
Cheers,
Jim.

Hairy, they are excellent,
well made and light being made of alloy, if exy. Their finish provides additional compartments along the sides, accessible from the top, front or back.

Hi HK
I have been using Black Widow for a good number of years. What they have been through and still work like new. Another great feature is if you sell your vehicle, you only have to purchase the side wing kit to suit your new vehicle.
Seasons Greetings.
Cheers
Stephen

HK,
We looked at both for our Prado and ended up with Black Widow. In terms of quality I'm not sure that there is really much different but what decided it for us was that the Black Widow drawers were larger. I looked at heaps of different drawer systems (ORS, Tanami, etc) and found a big difference in the dimensions so if this is important to you then make sure you find out from each manufacturer what the INTERNAL drawer dimensions are.
