A short note from Geehi and
Tom Groggin at the moment.
I realise the Boxing Day is head off
camping day so as we are at Geehi, I thought I would pass on a update on conditions.
It has been raining for almost the last 24 hours and the Geehi river is up about 12 inches and flowing quite fast. Getting accross for Patrol / Landcruiser is still Ok but not for smaller 4WD probably not.
Camping on the eastern side of the bank is about 2/3 full at the moment.
Tom Groggin to my amazment, 30 minutes ago (1245hrs) did not have a single camper in the entire place. The 120 kangeroos sitting in the large open area looked chuffed and very relaxed. The ford at the southern end of the area into Victoria is very high and there is not access accross it at all. At a guess, 8 feet deep and flowing very fast.

We crossed the Geehi this morning towing a 4 ton caravan and it was back to normal ( ie Sunday 1100hrs.) An hour later crossed the Murray south of
Khancoban and it appears to be normal as
well. Sorry cannot update you on
Tom Groggin.
