Can someone please give some ideas where to stop to
free camp for overnight rest between Wagga &
Balranald. I will be towing a 13ft caravan. Thanks.

hi Dragon Fry
camps 5 is your best option, far to many sites to list on that road, but about 38 klms east of
Hay Mulberrygong reserve is ok, turn north off road at
sign river & mulberrygong reserve about 1 klm dirt road no dogs allowed if you have a dog though

Try on the river at
Maude...take sealed road (40)k) ..go up main drag in
Hay, turn left to
Maude...cross bridge at river..take track to left along river...plenty of sites...good one
on bend to left about a k along track..no worry with a small van. Turn left when
back on road..easy 12k back to highway, then right to
Balranald. Should be on
any decent map. chees...oldbaz.

At
Hay there is a Council run
free camping area on the western edge of the town beside the river. Image Could Not Be Found
Find directions in Camps 5 which will be one of the best investments for travelling that you could make.

There is a beauty in
Hay with
toilets ,tables there used to be
water but I am not sure if there still is, ( tap) and within walking distance of shops, go over bridge, turn left, follow road around past
water tower, turn into
Water st on left, go to end of street then turn left down to river. This is a recognised
camping area.
