Hi All,
I am currently doing up an 85 Viscount poptop aerolite and I am towing it with a Mitsubishi pajero with a 4" lift. Due to the lift, the poptop tends to lean backwards due to the height. The poptop has 13"
wheels on it at present and I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and apart from an axle swing over modification has anyone changed wheel size and if so what was the maximum that they could use without altering the gaurd or body. Also did it solve the problem.
Thanks

If your Pajero has a HR tow tongue then you may invert it lowering the tongue height.
Then you can fit 14" rims and LT tyres to the van.
If this does not work try a Springover if the van has standard leaf springs

Hey there, Thanks for the info. The tongue is already inverted and unfortunately it does not have leaf springs so cant do a springover.

We have a Jeep Rubicon with a 3" lift kit + modified
suspension - we tow a Coromal Pioneer. To get the van sitting level my husband bought an adjustable tow hitch which slots into our Hayman bar, he then just selected the correct hieght now everything is good!

Big Johnny,
My 85 Viscount poptop (not an aerolite) Grand Tourer runs 195x14 LT and I had to drop the drawbar tongue to level up behind my Disco.
Nextdoor neighbour had a lifted Patrol and had a 5inch spacer welded up to go between the van drawbar and the van tow hitch using two sets of HT bolts to bolt it together. His van had electric brakes but I reckon it could be done with override brakes too with a bit of bush ingenuity.
Cheers
Disco.

Hey folks,
Thanks for the info. I have a hayman reece towbar and the tongue is as low as it can go. When I am reversing up a normal driveway the spare which is situated at the rear of the pop top scrapes on the driveway. I am not sure but I think that if I purchase a Hayman Reece adjustable tongue and put on 14"Rims it will hopefully do the trick.
Thanks
