G'day every one
I spilled a litre bottle of water on the floor of the cruiser ute and thought that it had all stayed on top but some has got into the underlay and there is a vile smell and a sticky white mould growing in it. What should I put on the mould to kill it and remove the smell. I thought of exit mould from the bathroom but will that cause rust or similar corrosion probs ?

Happy New Year

I ripped the carpet/underlay out of mine and repainted the floor . Then i went to a auto carpet place and got some heat/noise 12mm thick underlay and put that down . You can put whatever carpet you want over it . Its all cut around the seats etc so i can rip it out anytime without taking the seats out and hose the car out .

From having mouldy underlay in the past and trying to kill it I would definately go straight to the replacement, I thought I had cleaned it all but two months later it started to smell again, the bonus was the new underlay was a fantastic sound barrier.

Oil of cloves perhaps.

Vinegar is excellent for killing mould, as well as being cheap and in ready supply...
