Yes it will do the job fine, I had a ctek 25 for a short time, change it to a selectro 30 amp charger as it was quicker to bring battries up to float,

4 hours agaunst the ctek around 7 hrs. Less fuel.

The power would be something like:

25 (amps) * 14 (volts) * 80% (efficiency)

So about 440w or about half what your EU10 puts out.

Shouldnt be a drama

In the manual, they list the mains current draw as 2.9A rms at full charging current ..... equates to just less than 700W.

Hope that helps.

Ctek recommend the size of the generator to at least be double the size of the charger. The MULTI XS 25000 (300W) needs at least 650VA to function correctly.

Looking at this, it becomes apparent that the combined efficiency factor and power factors is 0.46.

Assuming the following:
P/F generator: 0.8
P/F charger: 0.9 (as PFC is stipulated by standard)
The AC/DC conversion efficiency is allowed to go as low as 0.63 under this scenario.

The end result is, that for every Ah the charger puts into the battery, it draws the equivalent of 1.6Ah from its source.
During times of peak charging current, the generator fuse gets to see a current 2.17 times higher than the maximum charger wattage would suggest - 2.7A versus 1.25A.

In a nutshell, as long as your generator is rated higher than 650VA, and the output fuse >2.7A you'll be able to run your charger off the gennie. It should be easy for you to work out the spare capacity left to run additional loads at the same time. Note that the maximum current draw by the charger only happens for a fraction of the total recharging time, depending on the DOD of the connected battery.

Best regards, batterymeister

I run a CTek 25 off a EU10.

When charging I used to run all I could off 240V whilst the generator was running. Seldom need it now I've been able to fit solar.
