Next week we are travelling from Narrabri to Uralla and want to travel via Bingara &Bundarra. There are 2 sections that have some gravel & was wondering whether anyone knew of the suitability of towing an 18ft poptop over these sections:-
Narrabri to Bingara - & Bingara to Bundarra,
Thanks, Willy

No problems, as always when towing on gravel control your urge to drive to the conditions (speed) immediately in front of you as there may be "something around the corner" you won't be alble to slow down in time for.

Hi Willy,
Last time I was through there it was good gravel and if you follow Mark's advice above you'll be fine.

Actually Mark's advice about driving to "what's around the next obstacle" not what's under your nose is gold for anyone travelling on any unformed surfaces.

Willy

Wish I could always followed my own principles at times. I normally fail on roads I think I know

Yesterday I travelled both ways on the Narrabri to Bingara road with our 3500kg, 7.15m (23ft 6") and really enjoyed the trip.

Most creek crossings had a small flow of water, which meant I slowed down to drive through without making a mess, but others might not worry.

The road is all sealed and is a great drive, although you need to take care on some of the tight corners.

It is a while since I have driven from Bingara to Bundarra, so I won't add any comments for that road.

Enjoy the trip.

Regards, Jack

Been over both pretty regularly. As others have said Narrabri to Bingara is now sealed and quite good.

Bingara to Bundarra still has some dirt but not much. Just thinking (its been a couple of months) a large section had been sealed recently. Still some dirt at the Bundarra end. It is a bit windy in the climb out of Bingara but a good drive and well worth doing. I have seen lots of vans on this road.

You should have no trouble. Allow some time at Bingara, the best town in the whole New England/North West.

Thanks for your responses. Travelled that road last week & it was great. Only about 10km dirt at Bundarra end. Enjoyed the trip.
