You can now customise your nüvi's voice directions. Has some limitations - dont think you can change some prompts. Looks like fun...if only I had a nuvi:(

I have a nuvi and the first thing I did was turn the voice OFF ! :-)
I hate machines that tell me what to do and I just find it annoying and distracting.

Maybe you could replace voice prompts with questions such as "Hi, hope you're having a nice day, by the way, what's your opinion on turning left in 500m?" in a quiet, submissive voice....would that work for you? :)

All I would hear is:
"Open the pod bay doors Hal.
I'm afraid I can't so that Dave"
I dislike technology that beeps talks or interrupts.
That especially includes mobile phones :-)

mmm Ok - sounds like you need to wait for a version that modifies the voices in your head :)
Cheers
