Sounds like limited slip noise. Change the oil making sure the new oil is marked for a limited slip diff About 2 liters I think.

Doubt its the limo working properly as Toyota have crap LSD and normally if they have a few klms up on them they aren't working at all. UNLESS the diff centre has been rebuilt lately and they have overdone the LSD settings/tolerences. When we had our statesman I had the limo done and turning sharp corners (mainly right) it would chirp and carry on, worse in carparks with the shiny concrete floors. Don't know what it would be but would say there is definitely an issue. Regards Steve

Sometimes they do like to set them up just over specs so it gives them a bit more life as an LSD before they free up a bit. I own two Toyotas so not bagging them but they do have crap LSD from the factory, you can tighten them up a bit but do another 40k and there r s again, Nissan have the best LSD im my books and the misti's are pretty good to. Not sure how many k's ago your diff was done but maybe do a few more klms in it (couple of thou) and see how it goes. Unless some one else might know the exact reason. As said above make sure its running LSD oil, there is a difference. You can run LSD oil in open diffs (eg front diff) so you dont need to buy two different oils if you have LSD Regards Steve

Were you accelerating as you were coming out of the turn when you got the squeal ?
