After a recent trip through
Melbourne & finding out the hard way about the changes exiting the Domain Tunnel if you are heading to the Calder Feeway, I decided to upgrade my Garmin Nuvi 310's maps.
The trouble is on the Garmin website they give you no idea of just how up to date they really are. They also have no email address, only a 1800 phone number, which after my experience I think it would be easier to get through to the Prime Minister.
The maps are not cheap, so it did surprise me that they give no info, such as upgrade dates, content etc., about them,
mine are currently less than a year old.
So my question is ... has anybody got recent Garmin maps & do they include the most recent changes to the M1 etc?

Shaker,
Most of the GPS manufacturers are difficult to communicate with, I have used the
FAQ and Agent escalation web page with some success, It is US based, I had purchased Topo V2 this earlier this year, then unfortunately had my Nuvi 760 stolen, I explained the situation and the Garmin Agent sorted out de registering the old Nuvi and gave me a new key to install on the new Garmin along with a years free updates.
Although I am not sure what the date of the latest update is, when I connect my Nuvi to the Garmin site via my PC it updates, Firmware, Software, map info and POI's as required.
Might just be worth asking them the question.

Garmin have a $180 deal for unlimited updates for the life of the GPS you have, that's a good deal. The maps change almost as often as the roads change. I wouldn't be worried about it being up to date, just drive on it and let the Garmin work out where it is.

Most maps are not completly up to date.
ie The Natmap Raster maps of 2009 are correct as at 2006.
Even then, not all the maps have been up dated. Several roads here in W.A. were realigned around 2002 and the maps still show the old road.
